Rapid assessment of ABC
100% O₂, airway adjuncts, minimal ventilation. Is the airway protected?
Assess GCS stimulate the pt.
Review anaesthetic chart, drugs, timings, interaction. Take account of patient characteristics.

Consider: Naloxone, Flumazenil, Neostigmine, Doxapram.

Capillary blood glucose
Correct glucose if low or high
Measure temp
ABG analysis
Correct hypoxie, hypercapnia or acidosis

Full clinical examination with particular attention to respiratory system & nervous system (including focal or lateralising neurological signs).

Consider further diagnostic tests: CXR, CT Head

Blood tests : U + E (Urea and Electrolytes)

  • , FBC (Full Blood Count)

    • or haemocue ( A bedside hemoglobin test ) , glucose, TFT ( Thyroid Function Test)

If patient remains unconscious, decide where this patient should be managed?

Further course of action?

Consider the dissociative test where the Diagnosis is absent.
