1. Wastewater is generated from campus buildings as greywater and blackwater.
2. In Chamber 1, a mixture of greywater and blackwater enters a single UASB reactor. Organic matter is broken down and biogas is produced. Effluent continues to the Primary Activated Carbon Filter.
3. In Chamber 2, greywater enters the Primary Activated Carbon Filter.
4. In Chamber 3, blackwater is treated in four UASB reactors generating biogas. Effluent combines with Chamber 1 effluent in the Primary Activated Carbon Filter.
5. Combined wastewater passes through the Primary Activated Carbon Filter, reducing organics and impurities.
6. Effluent flows into the Primary Constructed Wetland planted with Cyperus papyrus for additional treatment.
7. Water is directed into the Secondary Activated Carbon Filter for further polishing.
8. Water passes through the Tertiary Activated Carbon Filter for advanced impurity removal.
9. Water enters the Secondary Constructed Wetland planted with Cyperus papyrus for nutrient and pathogen removal.
10. Effluent flows into the Quaternary Activated Carbon Filter for final polishing.
11. Treated water enters the Settling Tank where suspended solids settle.
12. Water undergoes Sand Filtration to remove fine particulates.
13. Chlorination is applied to disinfect the water and kill harmful microorganisms.
14. Fully treated water is stored in the Tertiary Treated Wastewater Tank.
15. Treated water is pumped to irrigation taps on campus for reuse.
